Top Quality Data, LLC is currently looking for Communications Technicians for a project in Owensboro, Kentucky. These are positions for a project that will last from 12 to 16 months. Communications Technician Location: Owensboro, Kentucky Pay: Based on Experience $12 to $25 hr 1099 Contract Labor Overview: This is a Non-Union position A Communications Technician will be responsible for installing, terminating, and testing of Voice and Data communication cabling systems; as well as Nurse Call and Fire Alarm cabling systems. will be assigned to work with a Lead Communications Technician or Senior Communications Technician and other company personnel as needed. When assigned, this person will direct the work of an Assistant Communications Technician. The Communication Technician is responsible for tools and materials supplied by the Company for use in this position. Job Description: Communications Technician is an entry-level field trainee position. Continued employment is contingent upon achieving required training, certifications, and safety requirements. Candidate must demonstrate sufficient aptitude for acquiring the skills and knowledge involved in the competent performance of the tasks relating to installation and troubleshooting. Expected to function with an increasing degree of proficiency and a decreasing degree of supervision with regard to those skills and tasks for which training and instruction are received during tenure in this position. 1. Day to day activities: a. Properly operate and maintain installation tools and equipment. b. Report any accidents, losses, injuries or property damage to supervisor. 2. Apply knowledge and skills of training on the job. 3. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance. 4. Perform all other duties as requested and assigned in order to achieve business goals and objectives. Required Skills: 1. Ability to use basic cable installation tools and hand tools. 2. Ability to perform job from high places (on poles and roofs) and tight spaces in attics, crawl spaces, and under homes. 3. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code NEC, the National Electrical Safety Code NESC, the Occupational Safety and Health Act OSHA, various state and local codes including G.O. 95 and G.O. 128, when applicable, and the policies and procedures for installation activities. 4. Ability to read general system layouts from blueprints. 5. Knowledge of basic mathematics. 6. Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a clear and straight forward manner. 7. Ability to work independently. 8. Ability to prioritize and organize effectively. 9. Ability to work overtime as needed. 10. Ability to work a varying shift schedule as assigned.
