Position Summary
The Media Relations Department at the UC Office of the President serves as the primary link between the Office of the President and the news media. The department staff interacts with journalists and media outlets, coordinates responses on news coverage and executes proactive communications strategies. This position responds to media queries, drafts statements, press releases and op-eds for the President and senior leadership, and collaborates on projects with members of the Media Relations team and others in the Public Affairs division. The incumbent provides analysis and information, searches out and writes stories, conducts interviews, sets up press conferences, and arranges for photography, video, or graphics to accompany news releases.
