Job Summary

Under supervision of the Administrative Nurse and HA Supervisor, guided by policies and procedures of the Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with the Clinical Nursing Staff, the Medical Assistant PD Float assists in the delivery of care to patients in multiple Cancer Center ambulatory group practices.

Work includes a variety of personal care and nursing procedures including assuring positive care outcomes. This position may float to the various cost centers within the Cancer Center, including practices and infusion units, located at various campuses and satellite offices. S/he will perform assigned patient care and laboratory procedures in support of the specialty care services provided to patients. S/he is required to adhere to the Telephone and House Standards as adopted by the Medical Center.

The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations is required.

Required Qualifications

* Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program; or equivalent combination of training and experience

* Active American Heart Association CPR certification

* Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
