This is a full-time contract-to-hire position with a fast-growing enterprise company in health care industry. Work location in North Phoenix (I17 & Greenway) or Tempe (Elliot & Hardy). Mon ?Fri 8-5. Hourly pay $14 - $16 DOE.

You will deal with dual screens and assist with prior authorizations for specialty care/procedures, scheduling surgery, managing doctor orders and patient charts. This is a solely administration role; you will only speak with patients on the phone. You need to have minimum 1 (one) year recent Medical Assistant experience. You need to be computer savvy and can handle dual screens. You must be able to pass Background Check and Drug Test.

Job function:

Reviews and enters complex authorizations and referrals from VA and providers. Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses and or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the patient. Must be able to effectively communicate with clinical staff. Place outbound phone calls to Veterans and providers as needed within contractual timelines. Ensures accurate data entry and completion of authorization data from customer information, medical records, referral/authorization forms, assists Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) in obtaining consult reports within required turnaround times. Provides initial data entry related to potential quality issues. Works under the direction of the RN Supervisor to request appropriate records and process initial review of those records. Works in a fast-paced production environment.
Education & Experience

o High School diploma or G.E.D.
o Graduate of Medical Assistant program; Medical Assistant certification required OR
o 1+ years experience in an administrative or medical office environment OR
o Advanced knowledge of medical terminology
o Proficient with Microsoft Word and data entry skills
o Proficient with Outlook, the Internet and on-line systems

o Associate?s Degree in medical office administration
o Managed Care experience
