JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY The Medical Assistant (32 hours/week) is an integral member of our Family Health Center and will focus on patients of all ages with particular care of pediatrics. This position will be located at our Central Medical Center in Seattle's diverse and vibrant Capitol Hill neighborhood.
As a Medical Assistant, you will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in routine nursing situations, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or provider. Function under the direct supervision of the RN or provider in complex situations in which the patient is unstable or requires urgent or emergent care. Additional responsibilities include:
* Provide overall rooming support to the team.
* Use EMR to obtain and transmit information.
* Obtain pertinent history and vital signs.
* Give limited information/results to patients within scope of practice.
* Coordinate referrals to other specialty clinics.
* Coordinate clerical functions.
* Prepare and stock exam and workrooms.
* Maintain instruments, equipment and supplies.
Monday through Friday (variable) from 8:20AM - 5:20PM. As a part-time employee, you will work at least four days per week. Your day off is variable and will be dependent on the clinic's schedule and staffing needs.
Central Medical Center (201 16th Avenue East, Seattle, WA 98112) is served by Metro bus routes 8, 10, 43, and Sound Transit's Link Light Rail is only half a mile (10 minutes) from Group Health.

Preferred: Family Practice MA experience including obstetrics and pediatrics
Minimum: Basic or limited knowledge and skills listed on the Group Health Medical Assistant Competencies/Skills Inventory.
Preferred: Knowledge of Patient Centered Integrated Care Model
Minimum: High School/GED. Graduate of accredited program as Medical Assistant.
Minimum: At time of hire Medical Assistant-Certified credential or Interim Medical Assistant-Certified credential. Washington State Department of Health issued credential. Interim credential expires 1 year from date of issuance. Able to obtain shortly after hire Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
