JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY We are hiring four Medical Assistants (full-time) to join the Secure Messaging Services team. You will have the exciting opportunity to work as a Medical Assistant on a centralized team delivering quality care to our patients and to support Primary Care secure messages across Group Health.
We receive a large volume of secure messages (patient emails) from our patients in any given week. You will provide virtual care by responding to patient initiated secure emails and give advice, within scope of licensure, to our patients through secure messaging using our EMR software, Epic. You will also call patients to get additional information, if needed.
In addition to virtual care, you will have the chance to spend two weeks in a Group Health medical center every quarter to provide face-to-face patient care. In the clinics, you will:
* Provide overall rooming support to the team.
* Use EMR to obtain and transmit information.
* Obtain pertinent history and vital signs.
* Give limited information/results to patients within scope of practice.
* Coordinate referrals to other specialty clinics.
* Coordinate clerical functions.
* Prepare and stock exam and workrooms.
* Maintain instruments, equipment and supplies.
Your primary work location is at our Administrative South Building along East Marginal Way in Tukwila, WA. Quarterly travel to the clinics are to be determined.
There is free parking on-site, and transit and vanpool options available with our subsidized ORCA pass at $38/year.
Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 6:00PM (variable).

Minimum: High School/GED. Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program.
Preferred: 1 year ambulatory care experience.
Minimum: At time of hire Medical Assistant-Certified credential or Interim Medical Assistant-Certified credential. Washington State Department of Health issued credential. Interim credential expires 1 year from date of issuance. Able to obtain shortly after hire Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
