Medical Authorizations Clerk:

This is a great role for someone who thrives on being on the positive side of every day. Successful Bakersfield medical facility is seeking a goal driven Medical Authorizations Clerk/ Patient Registration Clerk to support a busy office. This is a fast paced workplace, and the right applicant will provide support to a team of Dr's as well as presenting a professional face for the company to diverse client?le passing through the doors every day.


Skills/Responsibilities:
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- 45+ WPM typing speed is imperative. Applicant will be tested.
-Polite phone etiquette on a multi line system. Able to smoothly answer, direct, transfer and take accurate messages in a fast paced setting.
- Clear communication both written and verbal.
- Excellent customer service skills on the phone and in person are keys to being successful in this roll. Must be comfortable initiating conversation with people of diverse ages and backgrounds.

EXPERIENCE WITH AUTHORIZING:
- HMO?s
- Kern Family GemCare
- BFMC as well as BC/BS and high volume authorizations 30+ daily

Education/Qualifications:
Authorizations experience is required. Bilingual in Spanish/English is a huge plus; however, it is not required. Must bring an optimistic perspective and attitude to work every day.
