The Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a Medical Biller. The position will be responsible for the data entry of the majority of charges generated by our medical staff for services rendered to patients. This position holds an important role in our revenue generation cycle. Review encounters received for all pertinent information: patient information, insurance information, services descriptors, diagnosis codes and managed care authorization requirements. Release charges web charges from TES. Each encounter is entered in a batched format and batch total must equal batch entry total in Epic system. Encounters with missing information are removed from batch and returned to division for resubmission to the billing are with added missing information. Responsible for completing charge entry daily log and carry out functions adhering to UM billing and compliance guidelines.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: High School Diploma or equivalent education with one year of patient related experience in a medical setting preferred. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs to include Outlook and Excel. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Understanding of managed care guidelines and medical center billing process is required.
