Medical Claims Collector

Commercial and Personal Injury insurance collector needed. Responsible for calling insurance adjusters, carriers, and attorneys to collect payments due to company on workers compensation and personal injury claims.
This potential candidate will spend a lot of time on the phone and in Excel/Word. Looking for potential candidates who welcome a heavy workload and a challenge from day one in a fast paced company.
While most of the collections calls are straightforward, some insurance adjusters and attorneys can be very tough and the potential candidate should not shy about asking for payment from people who don't want to pay. Potential candidate should also be able to handle a heavy call volume and have excellent negotiating and listening skills to perform the job successfully. (Some calls can take up to an hour at a time to reach resolution.) Ability to research state legal codes is important. Insurance adjusting, medical billing experience, workers compensation claims processing, knowledge of insurance lingo is a plus.

Excellent phone manners, fluency in Excel and Word, ability to compose strong letters and emails
