A small, dynamic Medical Device company in the cardiac market is making plans to commercial a series of game-changing products and is now expanding their marketing team. Their proprietary technology is used by medical and interventional cardiologists to treat a range of cardiovascular conditions, and their products also feature a novel inventory tracking device that provides dramatic cost savings to hospitals and payers.
They are creating two new Marketing Manager positions that will have a significant impact on the long-term success of the organization, and will require significant leadership and routine interaction with the executive team. This is a dynamic, exciting work environment and their teams have unusually strong personal chemistry. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for planning and executing new product launches, and will lead lifecycle management activities for in-line products that have already been commercialized. This is a mix of upstream product planning and downstream, customer-facing marketing. Duties include Voice of Customer, defining target product profiles, market segmentation, product positioning, branding and messaging. You will also train and support the 100+ person sales team. This is a broadly defined assignment that will include budgeting, forecasting, medical education programming, and extensive analytics, so we need someone who is comfortable "wearing many hats."
This new technology is clinically superior to competitive brands in the cardiovascular space, so your challenge will be to create awareness and expand the market, rather than shifting market share. You will work closely with Key Opinion Leaders in the cardiology and vascular community to develop them as advocates for new technology, plan and implement Advisory Boards, and manage medical education and trade show programming. They are organized in a matrix structure and you will serve as the commercial leader on cross-functional teams with colleagues from product development, sales, finance, regulatory, operations and medical affairs. Their rapidly expanding organization means there are significant opportunities for career development and advancement. Overnight travel is estimated at 20%.
The successful candidate will have the following qualities:
* 5+ years of total Medical Technology industry experience
* 2+ years of in-house marketing experience in the cardiology or vascular segments
* Evidence of successful product launch experience
* A Bachelor's Degree or better is required; as is an MBA or similar advanced degree
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to help set a vision for the future of the marketing organization
The industry-leading compensation plan includes base salary plus incentive-plan bonus, along with an expanded benefits package.
This position will be based in the San Francisco Bay area (South Bay). Financial assistance is available for relocation support.
