The Lead Physician/ Medical Director for Virtua at Work has clinical as well as administrative/managerial responsibility and is responsible for the overall level of medical care administered within Virtua at Work Occupational Health.
Clinical services provided by Virtua at Work include physical exams and assessing, diagnosing and treating individuals for occupational illness or injury. The Medical Director provides clinical leadership, training and development for Virtua at Work staff including providers and staff. The Medical Director is responsible for performance evaluation of direct reports (APNs and Physicians) and achieving overall clinic Quality Assurance indicators. As the Medical Review Officer, they are responsible for the drug testing program including review of all inconclusive results.
The Medical Director and the Virtua Employee Health Program nurse(s) work together to develop medical directives and update them as needed. Standing orders serve as the authorization for medical treatment and expanded role activities for Employee Health Registered and Licensed Practical nurse(s).
Educational Requirements, Qualifications: Licensed Physician in the State of New Jersey required. Board certified in Occupational Medicine preferred. BC/BE in Family Practice, Emergency or Internal Medicine acceptable. Three years experience in Occupational Medicine required.
