Job Description

We know that where you work matters, and also that you have choices. As Swedish grows, we are able to offer more opportunities than ever to professionals at all stages of their careers. We are honored by your interest in employment with the Swedish 'family'.
Since its inception in 1910 as a 24-bed hospital, Swedish Medical Center has grown to become a five hospital campus system - First Hill, Cherry Hill, Ballard, Edmonds and Issaquah.

In addition to providing general medical and surgical care, Swedish is a regional referral center for treatment in the areas of oncology, cardiac care, high-risk obstetrics, neurosciences, orthopedic surgery and organ transplant. Swedish also has an impressive array of specialty programs that includes sleep medicine, addiction recovery, pediatric services, pain management and home-care services.

Under the direction of the Simulation Center Director, the specialist operates and maintains all simulation equipment, including computers, audio/visual equipment, and lab equipment. The specialist will also assist students and faculty with preparing for and conducting simulation lab experiences.

* A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare environment and/or knowledge of healthcare operations.
* Proficient with computer hardware equipment and software applications, including those relevant to simulator functions.
* Proficient in use of audio/visual equipment (i.e., video cameras, monitors, microphones), including recording, duplication, and editing.
* Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and fix equipment problems in a timely fashion.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
* Work requires occasional heavy lifting of equipment.
* Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Technology or Health-related field strongly preferred.
