The Department of Pathology is seeking a Medical Technologist to work in the Plantation office. The Medical Technologist is responsible for all routine Laboratory Analytical Tests results. Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of patient test results and critical values associated. Maintains records that demonstrate that proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. The technologists will be responsible for reporting patient results only when Quality Control specimen results are acceptable as described in the Quality Control Policy. The Medical Technologist will demonstrate the ability to coordinate and prioritize simultaneous series of tests with complete accuracy, i.e., when working in Chemistry and Hematology.
The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Associate Degree, and one (1) year of relevant experience are required. Current/valid State of Florida Medical Technologist license, in the areas of Hematology, Chemistry, Immunohematology, Immunology and Microbiology is required. Proficiency with computers is preferred. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
