Medical language specialist who interprets and transcribes dictation by physicians and other health care professionals regarding patient assessment, workup, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, clinical course, diagnosis, prognosis, etc., in order to document patient care and facilitate delivery of health care services. Six months to one year medical transcription experience is required. Maintains knowledge of medical terminology and current practices. Maintains knowledge of grammatical structure of the English language. Understands varying dictation styles and accents. Uses reference materials accurately. Operates computer, transcription, and copier equipment. Possesses excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills. Possesses excellent eye, hand and auditory coordination. Works independently and under pressure. Adheres to the Hunterdon Medical Center s Code of Ethics Policy regarding Standard of Conduct and confidentiality. Full-time Day shift High school diploma or equivalent is required
