JOB DESCRIPTION

APPLY
For more than 200 years, the Massachusetts Medical Society has served as a professional membership organization for physicians. Today, through the combined efforts of our employees – and publications including The New England Journal of Medicine – we continue to serve as an advocate for physicians and patients, furthering the goal of quality medical care and publishing reports on important advances in medical science and practice.

Working in our regional office in Wilbraham, you will perform a variety of administrative responsibilities to ensure the efficient daily operation of the Medical Society’s regional office. You will assist the regional office manager with all aspects of event planning and special projects, and serve as a liaison between the Society and the district medical societies. Responsibilities include answering phones, greeting visitors, researching and drafting responses to physician inquiries, ordering supplies, maintaining print and electronic files, and coordinating the payment of invoices. You will also create and distribute brochures, fliers and meeting materials, maintain event calendars and distribution lists, coordinate meeting arrangements, prepare and distribute correspondence including meeting minutes, and follow up on meeting details. Providing support at some early morning and evening meetings is also necessary.

Requirements include an Associates’ degree or equivalent and 5 years of administrative experience. Proficiency with MS Office applications and databases is important. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are also necessary. Previous experience working with the physician community and familiarity with a membership organization are preferred.

We offer a competitive salary and an exceptional benefits program. Please visit the Careers section of our website at www.massmed.org for more information or to apply online for this position.

The Massachusetts Medical Society is an EOE: Minorities, Females, Vets and Disabled.
