Job Description

Position Summary:
This position will be located in Green Valley Ranch at the Evie Garrett Dennis Campus which serves young children through teenagers. In collaboration with Denver Health, the therapist assigned to the campus will provide comprehensive health and mental health services to the student population as well as community members. The therapist’s primary responsibility will be to those students (and their teachers) who are between the ages of 12-18. The role of the therapist will be to support the entire school community including children, parents, staff and administrators. The therapist will be a consultant to staff members and provide a wide range of prevention, early intervention and treatment services to the students. The treatment services will include mental health assessments, intakes, case management and group/individual/family therapy. The therapist will need to demonstrate skills related to building meaningful relationships, maintaining good boundaries and being responsive to the needs of a diverse community.
Essential Job Functions
Provide Mental Health assessments/problem identification, crisis interventions, and individual, group, and/or family therapy to assigned clients. Provide support to teachers and relevant building staff in support of the students. Provide support to teachers and building staff including stress management, de-escalation techniques, behavioral change strategies and other topics as needed. Provide support to building staff as they strive to enhance supportive environments for students. Provide case management services to clients as needed. Develop treatment plans; monitor treatment progress, and follow-up at disposition times. Assist clients with psychological and social development.. Coordinate client's use of other agency programs and outside community resources. Coordinate medication/medicinal needs of clients with medical sources. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with agency standards. Coordinate client billing and modify treatment program in accordance with insurance coverage, plan provisions, and individual’s ability to pay. Participate in team/agency meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required.
