The Merchant Assistant performs administrative function to assist Buying Teams (Item set up, Marketing/Pricing and Import data entry, Vendor Subsidy entry and submission), coordinates schedules, generates reports and other necessary administrative functions as determined by the Buyers. This position works closely with the buying and merchandising support team to significantly improve the profitability and maximize shareholder value through process and data accuracy.Job Responsibilities:* Performs Item set up data entry in systems for import merchandise
* Performs data entry for all marketing functions: Impact, Offer Manager, Adplan, Bar graphs Builds/proofs signing packages for store implementation
* Supports the promotional execution process, including advertising prep, subsidy administration and point-of-sale signage execution
* Builds/proofs signing packages for store implementation
* Manages sample submission process for circular and signing
* Creates VAT documents and manages submission to vendor and accounting
* Conducts Online item set up and sample submission
* Supports buying teams with updating and distributing weekly reporting
* Manages the Help Ticket process by providing accurate and timely resolutions
* Schedules appointments and rooms for vendor meetings
* Maintains accurate Vendor and SHC contact lists
* Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills:* Proficiency in the use of desktop applications and Windows-based programs with emphasis on buying related systems
* Excellent listening, verbal, written and communication skills
* Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple priorities
* Previous retail experience
Preferred Skills:* Strong working knowledge of SPRS, AdPlan, Frequency, SignRiter (internal systems)
Associate's degree from a two year college or university; or two years related experience and/ or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferredEEO EMPLOYER
