Manage personnel to provide timely, accurate system accounting, financial accounting, and management reporting; ensure effective and efficient accounting processes, accounting and financial controls. Use metrics to track performance and adjust work teams and processes. Use effective leadership, change management and process improvement experience to drive processes and technologies that result in productivity gains, cost savings, and improved workflow and quality.
Responsible for the management, selection, development, motivation, appraisal and salary recommendations of direct reports. Contribute to the company's progress in affirmative action. Responsible for managing the work environment, identifying workforce needs and ensuring alignment with manager expectations, values and vision.
Manage and equip staff in support of the team's execution. Develop and maintain efficient and effective workflow and staffing within the department; ensure that accounting is accurate, deadlines are met, and controls are followed.
Oversee accounting and reporting of financial data, including the preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries, to ensure the validity and accuracy of general ledger accounts.
Create and monitor SLA adherence; operational issue resolution and escalation; general oversight of performance and process improvements.
Must maintain current knowledge of source system accounting flows and transactions supported by team. Establish and enforce procedures and oversight designed to verify the integrity of team execution. Ensure compliance to Sarbanes Oxley, SSAE16 and other compliance requirements.
Develop training and cross-training objectives to ensure effectiveness and continuity of department functions. Facilitate management and employee understanding of core functions and processes.
Lead activities to optimize procedural processes and systems supporting team functions.
Provide technical expertise to business management in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Participate on project teams as it relates to processes and procedures within departmental scope.
Education: Bachelor s degree in Accounting or related field.
Experience: 8-10 years of related experience and/or relevant experience.
CPA or MBA preferred.
