Job Description

As a member of the Clinical Outsourcing team, this position is responsible for supporting MLNM project teams in selecting, negotiating costs, contracting and business oversight of CROs, laboratories and all other vendor types in support of Millennium's clinical programs. Clients include the Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs Departments. The position provides leadership in developing internal requirements associated with these services, and assures that strategic sourcing and relationship management best practices are employed throughout the project life cycle to assure best-in-class services are maintained.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage the Request for Information/Request for Proposal process for assigned programs
- Analyzing proposal responses against cost and qualitative criteria
- Leading the evaluation and selection of suppliers for projects/programs
- Coordinating, attending, and evaluating supplier presentations
- Performing due diligence on new providers, including review of financial statements, corporate stability and conducting reference checks
- Conduct client and supplier surveys and manage supplier relationships
- Developing negotiation strategies and performing negotiations for contracts and and implement strategies to control Change Orders
- Developing Statements of Work and payment schedules that ensure compliance with MSAs and include proactive strategies to achieve project delivery on time and within budget according to relationship best practices
- Work in close collaboration with other functional areas and groups within Millennium
- Staying current with the industry marketplace and implementing outsourcing industry best practices
- Contribute to organizational initiatives related to achieving outsourcing excellence
- Participate in and represent Clinical Outsourcing team on assigned cross functional projects
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Candidates should have 5-7 years experience in Clinical Outsourcing, with a minimum of two years in a Sponsor organization. B.A. or B.S. degree required, M.B.A. preferred.

Other:

- Thorough understanding of FDA, ICH, and GCP guidelines as well as a thorough understanding of cross-functional clinical processes including clinical operations, clinical project management, data management, biostatistics, medical writing, drug safety, pharmacovigilance, legal and regulatory affairs
- Ability to operate in a cross-functional matrix team environment
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
- Strong verbal and written communications and presentation skills
- Proven problem solving and decision making skills
- Excellent planning, analytical and project management skills
- Willingness to travel internationally and domestically, as required to perform duties
