As a Mgr, Inside Sales in the NetApp s Sales function, you supervise the Inside Sales Representatives who sell to existing customers over the phone. As a Manager, you will need strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, as well a sense of urgency to meet and exceed revenue goals for the assigned Region.
Provide direction and supervision to Inside Sales Representatives who focus on the following sales activities:
o First point of contact within the sales organization for existing customers when they call NetApp with product questions.
o Find opportunities to expand within existing accounts through proactive outbound calling.
o When speaking with customers, identify the need for, and provide a quote to the customer for:
o Identify proper entitlements, uplifts and technical education needs.
o Work with field sales on complex orders.
Recommend departmental specific procedures. Implement and monitor those that are approved.
Create forecast and performance reports and various analyses.
Ensure department goals are met and approved budgets are attained.
Utilize previously acquired experience to become actively involved in sales calls to support the Inside Sales Representatives.
Provide leadership direction to the sales team including defining roles and responsibilities, scheduling staff, and determine resources required for support of sales process and resolution of issues.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience in developing programs and processes that directly create customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Ability to work collaboratively, and act in a lead role as a subject matter expert within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined measurement criteria.
Familiarity with the basic concepts of hardware and software development.
Solid understanding of engineering/technical, financial, sales, and marketing processes and objectives, as related to product sales and support.
Creative approach to problem solving.
Responsibility and Interaction:
o This individual uses their background and knowledge to contribute to the development of company objectives and principles, and to achieve sales and services goals by exercising judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine actions.
o This individual monitors the activities of a section or department for a specific geographic region or area and recommends positive changes to policies.
o Participates in setting revenue targets and ensuring that targets are met.
o This individual receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals, and the process by which to meet goals.
o This level of manager successfully manages supervisor to individual contributor level professional employees. Management direction includes checking work against objectives set.
o This individual must work effectively with Staff to Director level employees, employees within and outside of their department and function, and with customers.
o Issues addressed are mainly within direct area of responsibility with limited cross-functional collaboration.
o Has the ability to gain cooperation of others through mentoring, coordinating and advising, and is beginning to provide leadership to staff. .
o Receives Senior Management review of objectives to determine success.
