JOB DESCRIPTION

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE

Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of national Sales and employee development training programs. Develops and implements strategic plans for sales training to enhance sales skills, career development, and grow talent within the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*

Manages the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of national Sales training and employee development programs to develop and expand sales skills aptitude within the sales force.
*

Conducts needs assessment utilizing a blended learning approach to identify gaps in knowledge and improve learning retention.
*

Researches market and industry best practices to identify and recommend strategies for improving Sales training programs; presents recommendations to sales stakeholders.
*

Creates processes to evaluate the effectiveness of training and employee professional development programs. Develops performance reports to depict program short term and long term successes.
*

Leads, coordinates, and collaborates with key stakeholders to develop training curriculum and talent initiatives that align with organizational Sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. Analyzes strategies to create an employee development portal and establishes milestones and success metrics.
*

Leads the development of training communications and materials (e.g., brochures, job aids) to enhance selling skills, product knowledge, and increase sales force productivity.
*

Leads, directs, and coordinates initiatives with key stakeholders (e.g., Marketing), to support new product developments and enhancements that support field selling needs.
*

Manages contract operations and sales training and development budget.
*

Manages, evaluates, and coaches a medium-sized group of employees; compares position core competencies to employee skill levels to ensure appropriate development and growth opportunities exist for organizational resources.

REQUIREMENTS:

*

Ability to develop, maintain, and monitor a budget.
*

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, senior officials, contract employees, and external customers.
*

Ability to think strategically sufficient to break down large corporate objectives into actionable items for implementation.
*

Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and external vendors to develop and implement national training and development policies and initiatives in support of field sales.
*

Knowledge of sales strategies, processes, and practices to identify field sales skills needs.
*

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing at a level sufficient to communicate, identify and present new or emerging trends, sales presentations, document activities and market trends within industry which includes developing complex proposals, presentations, briefings and reports to provide feedback to customers and internal key stakeholders and Business Units.
*

Ability to develop and implement employee training and development initiatives and communications to support sales employees.
*

Ability to develop program tracking and performance reports in support of training and talent development programs to monitor and measure results.
*

Ability to design, develop, and implement sales training support collateral and materials, new training offerings and continuous improvement solutions in support of national sales initiatives, programs or processes.
*

Ability to manage sales personnel, which include planning and setting goals; monitoring progress; and providing coaching, guidance, and feedback to a group of employees who provide training, administrative, and analytics support to field sales and sales support employees.
