* Engineering Manager 2
*
* in its Systems Engineering department at the Cincinnati, OH facility\. The selected candidate will report to the Manager of Systems Engineering, and will also support Sector, Division, and Business Unit engineering initiatives as required\. The position involves technical management and system engineering, including system thinking\. The candidate should have a broad, diverse background in program management, and technical management, as well as a working knowledge of the company's capabilities, products and processes\. The individual will have a proven track record of driving quality into end products through process improvement and innovation\. The individual will work at different levels within industry and must be willing to travel in support of off\-site activities\. The candidate should be strong in the area of risk and opportunity management and process improvement as a way of driving quality\.The candidate should have the leadership skills to develop, organize and execute engineering activities, and to assessing technical talent\.The candidate should have superior analytical and problem\-solving skills, the ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, engineering and program managers, and peers in the business areas\.Responsibilities include:
- Manage group of engineers and participate directly in activities that include:
+ Program start\-up, verification and validation, and issue resolution on programs+ Monthly project reviews+ Proposal development and new business activities+ Independent Research and Development concepts and implementation+ White paper development+ Risk mitigation+ Engineering Process Group leadership+ Facilitate and foster Mentor/Protg' relations\.+ Provide resources to programs through capital equipment and assistance to property management+ Oversee all technical training in coordination with organization's training group\.+ Ensure engineering organization is organized, trained and equipped to meet present and future requirements+ Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems\. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include:
concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal\.+ Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints\.+ Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications\.

* Basic Qualifications:

* - BS degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or Engineering\.- 8 years of experience with hardware, software, and systems engineering concepts and applications in both modernization and maintenance domains\.- Demonstrated experience in Technical Management / Engineering Program Management\.- Experience recruiting and developing engineering talent\.- Ability to obtain security clearance prior to start
