Microsoft System Analyst
In this role, you will plan, design, engineer, install, document, maintain, and monitor Microsoft Windows Networking Servers and associated elements that support core network functions and services including Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, and users and groups for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division in Bethesda, MD.
* Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
* Must be IAT Level II compliant (Security+ or equivalent)
Examples of Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
* Manage users and groups in the domain
* Implement security policies via group policy
* Manage network designs, installations, implementation of standards, and conversion and migration methodologies to enhance network technologies
* Resolve complex problems that impact system availability
* Monitor network performance and recommending improvements
* Support delivery, installation, and configuration of hardware and software
* Document results, including strengths, issues and lessons learned
Required Skills & Experience:
* Associates degree in Electrical engineering, Computer Science, Communications Management, or an equivalent technical degree from an accredited college/university
* Must possess a current MCITP-SA or MCSE CE/OS
* Minimum of three (3) years of combined experience in administering a Microsoft Active Directory, group policies, and users and groups
* Experience with:
* Windows 2003/2008/2012
* Windows XP/7
* Extensive knowledge of, and experience with, the installation and configuration of server OS and server applications, file permissions and system backups.
* Expert problem solving and troubleshooting skills of hardware and software problems
* Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to describe technical implementations
* Organize work activities to ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities
* Motivated, self-starter who is able to thrive in a fast, rapidly changing environment
* Desire to learn
* Ability to foster positive work relationships with customers, co-workers, and visitors
Desired Skills & Experience:
* Experience documenting system requirements, designs, and configurations
* Experience working in a DoD environment
* Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
* Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
* Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
