Conducts RF measurements and tuning of various RF and microwave elements, slow-wave structures, particle beam accelerator structures.
Develops processes, methods, and tooling for new programs; supervises their assembly and proofing.
Sets up new equipment, ensures its satisfactory operation, and instructs others to use the new equipment properly.
Write procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment.
Stays informed concerning new technology and equipment, and investigate their potential applications. Recommends incorporation of new technology for company applications where feasible and practical.
Leads other employees and trains less experienced department personnel
Interfaces with Salt Lake City VIP and X-ray production engineering as applications require. Familiar with board level digital and analog products and systems level integration of hardware and software.

Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:
Deep understanding of microwave measurement technique and vacuum technology and practices.
Knowledgeable concerning mechanical principles, machining practices, the properties of metals, and the application of mathematics and dimensions to develop microwave systems and products
Knowledgeable concerning modern fabrication and assembly techniques and machine-shop practices and techniques.
Strong drafting skills.
Able to mentally visualize and comprehend all aspects of a microwave or tooling problem, understand the interrelationships of factors affecting a given situation, and be attentive to detail.
Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovations to economically solve production problems in a timely manner.
Has initiative and able to work effectively with little direction and/or few guidelines.
Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Working knowledge of computer systems and data processing.
Familiar with computer-controlled machine tools, complex electronic measurement systems and has had exposure to high-volume automated processes.
Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
Typical Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience.
Must have experience directing or coordinating engineering and technical projects and experience with fabrication and testing apparatus.
Must be able to analyze and interpret test data and prepare technical reports, confer with scientific, engineering and technical personnel to address testing protocols and methods.
Percentage of Travel Required
