JOB DESCRIPTIONMid-Level Software Engineer Location Huntsville, Alabama
The software engineer is responsible for developing, integrating and utilizing components representing subsystems associated with the Missile Defense Agency including but not limited to; Advanced Sensor Technology, Discriminating Sensor Technology and the Next Generation Interceptor/KV. Object oriented language environment will be extensively utilized to enhance a current developing MDA/DV portfolio level Simulation. The Simulation elements include components associated with the BMDS and will allow a full end to end kill chain evaluation.
The successful candidate will have direct experience in end-to-end software development for real time embedded systems, including multi-tasking and task scheduling to achieve parallel execution of selected tasks, software/hardware integration, test and verification. Familiarity with Mathworks Simulink Embedded Coder Target Language Compiler programming is a significant plus.
Also, the engineer must be self-motivated, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience as a software engineer. Knowledge and skill set of operating systems including Matlab, C/C++, Python, and both Windows and Linux operating systems. Experience working with the BMDS and a full end to end kill chain evaluation is preferred. Significant experience working to create and maintain subsystem/ system level representations for all digital, software in the loop (SIL) and hardware in the loop (HWIL) simulation environments is required. A technical background and general understanding of one or more of the BMDS subsystems including Sensors, ballistic missiles/ interceptors, Kill Vehicles and control, command and battle management is a preferred.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor, Masters or PhD degree in engineering, computer sciences, physics or mathematics. Advanced degrees are preferred.
Candidates hired will be subjected to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
