The objective of the Safety, Mission Assurance, and Program Support Office is to partner with programs, Divisions, Groups, and Departments to collaboratively achieve mission success by pro-actively working with sponsor Safety and Mission Assurance personnel, and developing and implementing program-tailored Mission Assurance Plans.

The Mission Assurance Engineer will perform mission assurance for MIT Lincoln Laboratory in support of programs with applications in space, missile, shipboard, airborne, and ground-based systems. This involves ensuring that critical quality and engineering processes are followed. The successful candidate will develop mission assurance plans to ensure safety and reliability methods, project management techniques, and that system engineering tools are employed. The Mission Assurance Engineer will be responsible for providing matrix support to select programs for mission assurance, and system and application support to the Safety and Mission Assurance Office as well as design and integrate applications with existing processes.

MS in Science or Engineering or related field. 3-5 yrs of demonstrated experience with applying systems engineering tools and techniques throughout the life cycle of a project required. Must have the ability to perform safety and reliability analysis, such as hazard assessment, fault tree development and failure modes and effects analysis. Experience with desired skills in spacecraft and/or electronic systems. Must have comprehensive problem solving skills and general engineering knowledge pertaining to quality, reporting, and processes. Must have demonstrated experience with process creation, documentation, and workflow charting, and the ability to analyze data, create valuable metrics and provide dynamic solutions.
Demonstrated record of taking initiative to address issues and a willingness to learn new applications and technologies are needed.

Desired Skills (2 or more):
Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9000 implementation
Program engineering
RF systems development
Optical systems development
