Northrop Grumman's Littoral Combat Ship \(LCS\) Mission Package Integration \(MPI\) team is looking for LCS Mission Module \(MM\) Field Technicians to join their team in PT Hueneme, CA\.The Mission Module Field Technician will maintain, repair and operate equipment and machinery, such as Gun Weapons Systems, Mine Countermeasures Systems \(MCM\), Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats \(RIBs\), RIB Trailers and Support Containers in support of the LCS MPI Program\.The Field Technician performs a variety of maintenance on and provides technical support for Mission Module equipment, primarily at the Mission Package Support Facility \(MPSF\) at Naval Base Ventura County \(NBVC\), with travel to San Diego and other Navy bases and deployed sites worldwide\. Previous experience operating and maintaining main propulsion, auxiliary machinery, and diesel engines on US Navy/Coast Guard Vessels, Army Fighting Vehicles and Army Corp of Engineers Landing Craft is desirable\. Experience as Boatswain Mate, Airframes & Powerplants Mechanic, Special Warfare Combatant\-Craft \(SWCC\) Crewman or ASE Certifications and experience in professional automotive or commercial truck repair will be considered\. Applicable Navy/Coast Guard Ratings are:
EN, HT, MM, BM, GSM/ GSE\.Duties include:
- Analyzes and evaluates electronic and mechanical equipment relative to specified Mission Module performance parameters- Performs scheduled maintenance on MM equipment- Performs corrective maintenance, to include fault isolation- Operates MM equipment, e\.g\., RIBs, when required- Installs and removes MM equipment on US Navy ships- Maintains effective customer communications and relations- Collaborates and coordinates with customers/suppliers for technical and supply support- May provide flyaway maintenance and installation team support to various sites, both CONUS and OCONUS, when requiredBasic Qualifications:
- Two\-year technical degree or two years of work experience may be substituted for each year of a degree- Ten \(10\) or more years of direct experience operating and maintaining main propulsion, auxiliary machinery or diesel engines on US Navy/Coast Guard Vessels or Army Combat Vehicles \(e\.g\., Bradley Fighting Vehicle\)and/or Special Warfare Combatant Craft \(SWCC\)\), or applicable Navy/Coast Guard Ratings are:
EN, BM, HT, MM, GSM/ GSE and GMs/other Navy Rates with SWCC experience- Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access quarters onboard a US Navy warship and other spaces \(e\.g\., RIB engine compartment\), climbing 20 ft ladders and standing for long periods of time on a Navy ship or pier, lifting 50 lbs or more- Experience with Navy surface maintenance, to include Ship's Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance programs or equivalent- US Citizenship; must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance- Must be able to pass forklift operators physical and proficiency testsPreferred Qualifications:
- Fifteen \(15\) or more years Navy experience or other military experience preferred\.- US Navy experience or other military experience preferred but not required- Experience on LCS Class ships highly desired- Knowledge of the Navy's Surface Warfare \(SUW\), Mine Countermeasure \(MCM\) and systems and inter\-workings of the LCS Class MM program- Experience with 30mm guns on the LPD\-17 Class, USMC Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle \(AAAV\) or similar chain guns is highly desired- Army Corp of Engineers Landing Craft is desired- Experience in electronics and/or computer controlled systems- Experience with 11m Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats \(RIBS\); qualify as an operator and maintainer- Licensed Forklift Operator- Commercial Driver's License \(CDL\) License- USCG License 100T Master desired- Active Secret clearanceNorthrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce\.
