Northrop Grumman's Littoral Combat Ship \(LCS\) Mission Package Integration \(MPI\) team is looking for LCS Mission Module \(MM\) Field Technicians experienced in the maintenance of 11 meter Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats \(RHIB/RIB\) to join their team in San Diego, CA\.This position will serve as a Work Center Lead \(WCL\) for a series of RIBs as assigned by the RIB Fleet Manager\. As WCL, the candidate will be responsible for the managing and tracking the RIB preventive and corrective maintenance and modernization over the life\-cycle of the craft\. The WC Lead must be considered a subject matter expert on RIB operational and maintenance requirements to ensure mission readiness supporting the demands of the LCSRON\. As the assigned WCL, the candidate is expected to be the most knowledgeable person on the material condition of the Boats, and responsible for ensuring they safely meet their expected service life\. The WCL will engagewith senior Navy leadership, government program offices, sailors in the fleet, and shipyard contractors worldwide\.Areas of expertise include:
- Scheduling Preventive and Corrective Maintenance- Maintenance Figure of Merit and Automated Work Notification \(MFOM/AWN\) creation and management- Current Ship Maintenance Plan \(CSMP\) Management- Manage Upgrade/Modernization Program- Material/Supply Readiness- Conduct a technical review of all availability work packages- Collect data and other information to identify trends and issues- Perform special analyses related to RIB maintenance- Embark Readiness & SupportIn addition to serving as a WCL, the candidate Field Technician will be required to physically perform a variety of maintenance actions on the MPSF Fleet of RIBs at San Diego and other Navy bases and deployed sites worldwide\. Previous experience operating and maintaining auxiliary machinery and diesel engines on US Navy/Coast Guard craft is required\. Experience as Boatswain Mate, Special Warfare Combatant\-Craft \(SWCC\) Crewman or in auto or truck repair will be considered\.Field technician will have the following capabilities:
- Performs scheduled maintenance on MM equipment\.- Performs corrective maintenance, to include fault isolation\.- Operates MM equipment, e\.g\., RIBs, when required\.- Installs and removes MM equipment on US Navy ships- Maintains effective customer communications and relations\.- Experience with administering and complying with applicable industrial safety programs \(OSHA\)- May provide flyaway maintenance and installation team support to various sites, both CONUS and OCONUS, when requiredBasic Qualifications:
- Two\-year technical degree and one year of experience or three years of work experience may be substituted for degree- Six \(6\) or more years of US Navy experience including operating and maintaining main propulsion, auxiliary machinery, diesel engines on US Navy/Coast Guard craft\.- Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access quarters onboard a US Navy warship and other spaces \(e\.g\., RIB engine compartment\), climbing 20 ft ladders and standing for long periods of time on a Navy ship or pier, lifting 50 lbs or more\.- Experience with Navy maintenance, to include Ship's Maintenance and Material Management \(3M\), Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance- Experience accessing and managing data from the US Navy PMS system SKED- Experience with 11m Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats \(RIBS\)- Experience in embarking/debarking LCS Class MMs- Active Secret clearancePreferred Qualifications:
- Fifteen \(15\) years of US Navy experience or other military experience preferred- Experience on LCS Class ships highly desired- Knowledge of the Navy's Surface Warfare \(SUW\), Mine Countermeasure \(MCM\) and systems and inter\-workings of the LCS Class MM program- Qualify as an operator and maintainer of 11M RHIBs- Licensed Forklift Operator- Commercial Driver's License \(CDL\) License- USCG License 100T Master desiredNorthrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce\.
