Job Description
Web Mobile Systems Architect, direct hire position in Atlanta, GA:
Will lead architecture, design and technical evolution of the Mobile systems/platforms, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and partners. Will lead mobile web and app developers with broad knowledge of industry leading mobile and web technologies. He or she will leverage his deep knowledge and expertize to guide projects and teams directionally - towards comply with industry standards and best practices. andbull; Collaborate with operations teams to maintain best-in-class systems infrastructure that is supportable, maintainable and extendable to meet business needs. andbull; Works inside project teams as lead to develop mobile web-apps, as well as syndication feeds. Mobile development tasks include coding, testing, debugging, documenting, peer-reviewing, deploying, monitoring, and support. All tasks are performed in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards. andbull; Participate and lead in workflow design and analyze existing production and implementation processes in order to ensure the overall quality of products. andbull; Works with internal departments to provide associated deliverables required for the successful completion of development and maintenance assignments (e.g. business development, database development, web designers, end-user training). andbull; Maintenance and support of existing templates and content production processes - this assures that our processes are functioning correctly. andbull; Spends time learning new skills and enhancing existing ones and sharing learned knowledge with various teams. andbull; Contributes to task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities.andbull; General Expectationso Proficient at reading, reviewing and writing code. o Assist in maintaining operational queue. o Attend scope meetings, review scopes for estimate accuracy and technical correctness.o Mentor Developers on technical issues and best practices.o Demonstrate ability to balance own technical work with mentoring role.o Assume andldquo;Tech Leadandrdquo; roles on projects for which he/she is not active developer. (Tech Lead = guidance (coding, systems), communication, see belowandhellip;)o Consistently meet or exceed deadlines on programming projects.o Regularly update developers and leadership/management on industry trends and how technology can be leveraged to provide strategic advantage.o Research new technologies and vendor products; provide ideas for technical or workflow / process improvements.
Qualifications (Background, experience, and other requirements)
andbull; Skills important to success: Java, SQLite, Advanced HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, RIA (Flash/Silverlight etc), XML, XSLT and a strong foundation in enterprise level Internet technologies. Unix and IP troubleshooting skills. Experience testing and troubleshooting for mobile browsers. Experience with mobile/web analytics, mobile/web ads integration and mobile video integration.andbull; College degree required. At least 7+ years of previous experience building mobile applications and mobile web sites for iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, Symbian or Windows Mobile is required. Experience with a large-scale enterprise class web-site or web-app or native-app is required. Expertise in Java, MVC frameworks like Spring or Struts, HTML, JavaScript and CSS is required, and experience with phone camera, GPS, compass and accelerometer is preferred.andbull; Candidate must show an aptitude for detail. They should display leadership skills such as taking multiple responsibilities, pursuing multiple solutions to problems and making the best decision by building consensus among team members, displaying resourcefulness towards accomplishing given task or goals, and strong communication skills. They must exhibit an ability to get mundane functions of their job done with swiftness, as well as be self-motivated to learn new skills in order to broaden the scope of their role, and accomplish new challenging tasks.
