Superior Group is looking for a Model Maker - Level 3 for our Client located in Orlando, FL.

Designs and fabricates tools and parts in metals and plastics through machining and heat-treating operations.
Maintains model shop machinery.
May enter data from blueprints or databases into CAD/CAM system, generate numerical control program, and transmits program to machining center.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts needed, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment needed.
May modify numerically controlled programs on numerically controlled (NC) machines.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
This position is for an additive manufacturing technician in the Engineering Prototype Lab (EPL).
The EPL is the Engineering and Technology hardware development lab, focused on providing services to support engineering development from prototypes through low-quantity initial production.
The position is focused on metal additive manufacturing where candidate is responsible for the actual set-up, operations & fabrication of metal additive hardware.

Required Skills / Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Magics and have a strong background in Creo or Catia.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience with actual machine operation.
Minimum of 3 years’ additive manufacturing experience.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

Good communication skills, creativity to conceptualize hardware build options.
Hands-on experience machining and assembling hardware.
Works from blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions using math and basic computer skills.
Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
