The Modeling and Simulation (M&S) engineer technical lead is responsible for leading a team of engineers that develop, integrate and utilize models representing subsystems in a real-time environment. These models are associated with the Missile Defense Agency and include, but not limited to; Advanced Sensor Technology, Discriminating Sensor and the Next Generation Interceptor/KV. The Simulink modeling environment will be extensively utilized to develop an MDA/DV portfolio level Simulation. The Simulation elements include components associated with the BMDS and will allow a full end to end kill chain evaluation.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a real-time HWIL/SWIL environment and be proficient with C/C++. Significant experience working with Matlab/Simulink to create subsystem/system level representations for all-digital simulations is highly desirable. Experience working within the context of a 6DOF Simulation environment is preferred. A technical background in IR sensors and associated subsystems is highly desirable. A general understanding of one or more of the BMDS subsystems including, ballistic missiles/ interceptors, Kill Vehicles and Command, Control and Battle Management is a plus. Prior experience leading a team of engineers, producing product development schedules, and meeting product deadlines is highly desirable. Ability to interface with the product customer and present technical briefings to various levels of leadership is required.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor, Masters or PhD degree in engineering, computer sciences, physics or mathematics. Advanced degrees are preferred.
