Job Description

Role Summary

This individual will review and process assigned loans for closing and funding to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Investor and First Niagara guidelines, as well as regulatory compliance

Key Accountabilities

* Effectively manage to TRID regulatory requirements to include complete and accurate preparation of Closing Disclosure

* Distribution of Closing Disclosure to all required parties within the established timeline indicated by TRID based on original method of delivery

* Interact with attorneys and closing agents from the time of the loan closing through funding

* Effectively manage to all interest rate and document expirations to limit financial exposure to the business or customer

* Prepare and review closing documents

* Accurately calculate funding, wiring, and account transfers

* Balance borrower and seller settlement figures with closing agent

* Review all documentation required as part of the loan closing and funding (i.e. tax bills and hazard insurance policies)

* Ensure loan funding in accordance with investor and internal guidelines

* Complete work within established guidelines

Success Measures

* Ensure customer satisfaction, quality and productivity at or above minimum business standards

* Maintain compliance with all relevant and applicable internal and external rules, regulations, and policies that govern this position (i.e. Dodd Frank, TRID)

* Operate in a manner that is in strict alignment to FNFG's Code of Ethics policy and culture


* Strong organizational and analytical skills, with an ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities within the workday

* Thorough knowledge of the mortgage closing process as well as RESPA and TILA regulatory requirements

* Proficient PC skills to include Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook

* Ability to work timely and effectively with daily work flow reports

* Familiar with insurance binders, tax information, title reports, appraisals and settlement statements

* Advanced mathematical skills with attention to detail

* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills


* High School diploma or equivalent required, BA preferred

* Minimum of 1 year experience, financial services preferred

* Must successfully register and maintain registration annually with The National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing (S.A.F.E.) Act

Special Position Requirements

* Must be able to effectively use a computer with all its components for prolonged periods of time

* Must be able to work in an office environment

* Maintain and commit to a predetermined work schedule

* Must be able to remain in a stationary position

* Ability to open and lift 5-10 lbs periodically throughout the day

Work Requirements

* Travel percentage 10%
