Northside Hospital offers state-of-the-art Women s Centers focusing on women s health and wellness. Designed to care for a woman throughout her life from preconception and childbirth to midlife and beyond the Center specializes in GYN, cancer care and surgical services. Northside has treated more cases of endometriosis by operative laparoscopy and robotics than any other hospital in Georgia and is ranked in the top 5 percent of U.S. hospitals for GYN robotic surgical procedures. We are seeking an experienced RN to join our Mother Baby team. Some of your essential job functions include: Operating in an energetic, fast paced environment to lead the care team in providing appropriate care for mother and infant; Recognizing and addressing the complex interdependent needs between mom and baby; Observing and facilitating bonding between mother and infant; Identifying emergent conditions and leading the response to resolve them; Supporting infant feeding needs
Must Have Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated experience as a critical thinker to quickly recognize any change in a patient s condition, behavior, etc.; Experience educating parents in infant care; Experience leading an interdependent care team; Effective communication skills to facilitate bonding between mother and infant; Demonstrated sense of ownership. Pays attention to details of job, ensures all mandatory obligations are met; Commitment to the importance of breast feeding a the primary means of infant feeding Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Experience: 1 + year recent Mother Baby unit experience Certificate/License: Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program
