REQUIREMENTS:B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Physics Materials Science or related discipline and 1-2 years' experience with hands-on microfabrication equipment (industrial or academic environment). The ideal candidate will have a strong multidisciplinary understanding of the physics of micro- and nanoscale devices and the ability to take a concept from idea to physical demonstration.Additionally he/she will be a self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills be capable of achieving organizational and program objectives and be able to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical disciplines.This position can be tailored to the candidate's experience level.

DESCRIPTION:We are seeking an engineer with experience across microfabrication electronics packaging assembly clean room operations and microscale metrology. This position requires the ability to perform aspects of micro/nanosystem design modeling/simulation and fabrication in a multidisciplinary team for a wide variety of applications including biomedical defense and fundamental R&D. Knowledge of additive manufacturing metallurgy and materials science is additionally valuable.The successful candidate will: Work collaboratively with colleagues in diverse disciplines to develop new micro/nanosystem concepts that combine elements of MEMS/NEMS biomedical engineering advanced materials and nanotechnology. Function as an individual contributor to perform hands-on laboratory work and develop tools and processes for low rate manufacturing. Help evolve Draper's micro/nano capabilities through professional development occasional proposal development and industry and academia outreach. Draper currently has major micro/nanosystem efforts in inertial sensing miniature low-power electronics RF communications precision timing and magnetometry microfluidics tissue engineering nanopatterned polymers for control of surface properties and biomedical devices and sensors.
