JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY The Multimedia Producer writes news stories for on-air and online platforms while engaging viewers through Facebook, Twitter and other social media interactions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must. The Multimedia Producer thrives in an environment where speed and efficiency work in harmony.
Essential Job Functions:
30% Answering phones, discerning news tips, gathering information and dispensing that information to the newsroom.
30% Posting content, including stories, videos and pictures, to the station's digital platforms, while complying with digital publishing standards, including AP Style guidelines and in-house style guidelines.
20% Monitors news sources to ensure news is being appropriately covered.
10% Interacts with internal and external peers and/or manager to exchange information related to assigned tasks
10% taking in live feeds and coordinating interviews.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: EOE
Education: Bachelor s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or a related field, or equivalent training or experience.
Experience: Two or more years experience as a Producer or Associate Producer in a television or cable news operation.
Specific knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess advanced and thorough understanding of legal and ethical issues regarding journalism.
Must possess advanced and thorough understanding of newscast presentation and brand implementation.
Must possess excellent writing and graphic skills with ability to provide an interesting and brand centric story line.
Must be a strong communicator verbal, written, etc.
Must Ability to assimilate information quickly. Ability to compile and summarize information into a clear, concise, and understandable presentation.
Must be able to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
Must have ability to maintain focus and composure in a creative, stressful, and fast paced environment.
Must have strong decision making skills often on the spot.
Must be results orientated.
Must be experienced with all aspects of social media.
