Job Description

Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) is a community teaching medical center located in Newton, Massachusetts on Washington Street. It is affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School. It is a member of Partners HealthCare, a network founded by Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Womens Hospital. The Hospital offers a range of medical, surgical and specialty care, including maternity services, a 24-hour emergency department and orthopedic, critical care and oncology inpatient units. The Database amp; Systems Manager reports to the Director of Communications amp; Operations in the Newton Wellesley Hospital (NWH) Development Office. She has the primary function of managing donor systems including serving as the project manager for the Raisers Edge fundraising system; responsible for maintaining the database, overseeing the processing and acknowledging of all charitable gifts supporting NWH. She also serves as project manager for BlackBaud NetCommunity (BBNC), an integrated online marketing suite, working closely with the Director of Communications amp; Operations. BBNC projects include online donations, event websites and related technology needs, online donor communications, and website updates and technical support. She serves as a resource for all information systems issues and as liaison to the Partners HealthCare Development Office (Partners Development). In conjunction with Partners Development, she provides software support, training, report writing and other services related to the management of donor information systems. She supervises the gift administration staff. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree required. 3 to 5 years of database management and systems experience required, preferably in a fundraising, healthcare setting. Blackbaud Raisers Edge fundraising system experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with frontline fundraising a plus, but not a necessity. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated experience and capacity for carrying a demanding work load in a busy and fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and constant deadlines. Experience creating and producing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. *Ability to evaluate problems accurately, communicate issues to management in a timely manner as appropriate, and put processes in place where needed. *Strong organizational skills. Strong project management skills. Creative applications thinker. *Detail oriented and efficient. Outstanding oral and written communications skills. *Highest standards of professional ethics. Exposure to and understanding of HIPAA regulations. *Collaborative team player with sound judgment, and leadership abilities in a group setting. *Diplomatic, tactful, comfortable being firm in requiring data integrity and maintenance of data standards. Must be tactful but firm in reinforcing policies. *Demonstrated experience and ability to manage multiple priorities in a customer service oriented environment. *Microsoft Office proficiency particularly in Word and Excel. Experience with Blackbaud NetCommunity a plus.
