NWH RADIOLOGY NURSE (REG)

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Radiology Nurse will be directly responsible for conducting patient assessments pre and post procedures, administration of medication for sedation analgesia, insertion of peripheral IV catheters, care of the patient undergoing specific procedures in various modalities throughout radiology including CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Cardiology and Interventional Radiology. The Radiology Nurse will participation in the development and coordination of a patient plan of care, initiate the plan and evaluate its effectiveness in collaboration with the Radiologist and other members of the radiology team in the delivery of care to patients with diverse medical needs and provide education and teaching to patients andor family members pre and post procedure. Responds to acute care situations within the Radiology Department. Day Shift with on-call responsibilities QUALIFICATIONS: Current MA RN license required. 1 year of Critical Care Experience. Previous Radiology Experience preferred.BLSACLS required.Previous experience with administration and management of IV sedation analgesic in an acute procedural setting. Proficient placing IV catheters Minimum of 1 year of previous related Radiology nursing experience caring for a diverse population of acute, critical and non-acute patients. Minimum of 5 years direct patient care experience as an RN, including one year of recent Critical Care experience , Strong physical assessment skills, Experience and proficiency with cardiac monitoring , Demonstrate leadership and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively Experience working collaboratively within a team to problem solve and achieve patient goals.
