SGS Automotive Services N.A., a division of SGS Group based in Geneva Switzerland, provides commercial and statutory automotive related services to our clients in the US, Canada, and Mexico. SGS Automotive is a vehicle inspection company for the study, development and application of technologies for motor vehicle testing, diagnostics, repair, technician training, and information management. Coupled with developing and managing Inspection and Maintenance programs, SGS also provides a wide range of commercial automotive industry inspection services such as New Car, Off- Lease, certified pre-owned, auction, B2B online, and dealer testing, inspection, and certification services.

The Staff Network Administrator provides overall administration of corporate network assets including the management of the related infrastructure for these network assets.

This position is located in Rancho Cordova, CA.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are examples of typical duties that may be assigned to the position of Staff Network Administrator. It does not imply that the position will perform all of the duties listed, nor does it necessarily list all possible duties that may be assigned. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Analyze, diagnose and correct problems related to the network assets of the company.
2. Analyze network hardware needs and requirements for existing and future programs of the company, and recommend solutions.
3. Analyzes complex data using a variety of network management software tools, and prepare reports on network efficiency and other statistics.
4. Develops and installs WAN, LAN, and Wireless networks to meet the company needs.
5. Manages the installations, operation, backup, recovery and general maintenance of WAN, LAN, and Wireless networks for the company.
6. Develops, reports upon, and manages network security, including mitigation of issues.
7. Documents installation and maintenance of software, devices, and end user devices.
8. Implements end user network services (printing, end user accounts) and maintains network and peripherals.
9. Maintains and repairs computer equipment and associated peripherals.
10. Monitors network activity using specialized hardware and software to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum downtime.
11. Provides technical support (product recommendation and configuration).
12. Resolves end user and/or customer workstation and software problems as related to network hardware or software.
13. Resolves network performance issues or outage conditions.
14. Continuously endeavor to learn and improve upon IT related skills via self study, self discovery and/or company
sponsored training.
15. Participates in rotation on call duties, including after hours work and weekends, at the direction of the IT Operations Manager.
16. Collaborate closely with the Senior Network Administrators, the other Senior Member ITOPS staff and the IT Operations Manager on all new and existing company programs and initiatives.

PROFILE
1. General Level scripting ability (perl, ksh, csh or equivalent)
2. General level ability using Unix command syntax
3. General level ability using Windows command syntax
4. Proficient level ability using and administering networking related protocols and services, including (but not limited to) TCP, UDP, ICMP, FTP, SFTP, SSH, SCP, HTTP, HTTPS, NTP, DNS.
5. Proficient level ability to configure and maintain Domain Name Services (DNS)
6. Proficient level ability to configure and maintain hardware and software based Firewalls
7. Proficient level ability to configure and maintain Local Area Networks (LAN), Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
8. Proficient level ability to configure and maintain Virtual LAN s (VLAN)
9. Proficient level ability to configure and maintain environments that use Network Address Translation (NAT).
10. General level ability to configure and maintain Virtual Private Networks (VPN).
11. General level ability using Frame Relay, ATM, and MPLS WAN architectures.
12. Proficient level ability using general office tools including but not limited to Microsoft Windows based workstations, Microsoft Office suite of applications, and general Web based software tools

Company Specific Skill Requirements
1. General level of understanding regarding use, configuration, support and maintenance of Cisco branded networking and voice hardware.
2. General level understanding machine virtualization (e.g. VMWare) and how networking assets behave both within the Virtual Machines environments and their surrounding host environment.
3. General level understanding of the use and maintenance of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) architectures, including Novell eDir products and OpenLDAP.
4. General level understanding of networking principles for operating systems including all Linux variants (Suse, RedHat, CentOS, etc.), Windows, and Unix variants (AIX, Solaris).
5. General level understanding of the use of Security Certificates, Certificate Authorities, and their u se within both private and public networks.
6. General level understanding of Security issues in a networking environment, including intrusion detection, monitoring, reporting and mitigation.
