Responsibilities:Troubleshoots straightforward systems problems independently by investigating underlying problemsProvides ongoing operation/support of enterprise-wide applications, databases, and technology Configures, deploys and maintains server infrastructure interfaces with vendors as neededParticipates in planning and execution of new systems implementation/ deploymentMonitors systems performance and capacity and advises higher level technicians / supervisor of system statusParticipates in 7X24 on-call rotationDemonstrates advanced understanding of servers and utilities by designing and implementing configurationExecutes routine testing and implementation steps according to plan Qualifications:Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent training and experience; Graduate degree preferred3-6 years experience in related field Other Information:Understands and has the ability to maintain a large enterprise network infrastructure. Performs collaborative effort in support of the network infrastructure and when problems or issues cannot be resolved by NOC Tier 1 support staff. Analyzes network performance data and statistics. Prepares reports and recommends changes and improvements to ensure performance and availability objectives. Interfaces with vendor support service groups and to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. Has stayed current with network trends to support new applications, understanding industry standards and best practices. Has worked with Network Architects and other Network Engineers towards next generation networking solutions. Participated in the implementation of disaster recovery solutions and the execution of periodic disaster recovery tests.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to grasp new concepts and apply them.
- Ability to work under multiple deadlines and minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates ability to understand and analyze customer requirements and provide appropriate solutions. Troubleshoots straightforward networking problems independently by investigating underlying problems.
- Ability to lead implementation and deployment efforts on small projects and tasks.
- Proven experience in completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis. Working on large projects is a plus. Assures the security of the networking infrastructures.
- Demonstrates calm and professional demeanor when handling demanding situations.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Approximately 4-7 years of experience in the Networking field. Proven experience supporting a medium to large enterprise network infrastructure that includes Cisco or other platforms. Knowledge of routing protocols:
EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, and/or MPLS. Understanding of network flow analysis tools. Proven experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting VPN connections. Proven experience with Wireless technologies is a plus. Experience with Cisco security products such as Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) is a plus. Cisco certification desirable.
