Network Engineer

Our client is actively seeking a Network Engineer for their IT Department. This position is responsible for all aspects of the LAN/WAN network and voice systems including planning, design and maintenance of corporate data systems and will report to the IT Director.

Configures, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and relatedservices
Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network and voice problems
Maintain and support company's LAN/WAN environment
Uses advance concepts, configurations and management tools toprovide 24x7x365 monitoring, alert notification and problem resolution
Conduct research and provide all levels of support for issuespertaining to network and voice infrastructure
Plan and design network upgrades and additions
Develop, implement and maintain alert notification policies andprocedures
Maintain and optimize existing networks and improve networkdocumentation
Maintain procedures and where applicable work to improve anddocument new procedures
Assist in maintaining the 24x7 operation of the networkinfrastructure
Apply a proactive approach to infrastructure support
Communicate effectively with all personnel and ensure informationis accurately disseminated
Supports the planning, configuration, and implementation ofreliable, Cisco voice infrastructureQUALIFICATIONS

Current CCNA, CCNP or other Cisco related certifications stronglypreferred
Network+ strongly preferred
Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unified Presence Client, Unity, routers,switches, and related voice hardware
Proficient knowledge of Enterprise LANs and WANs
Comprehension of the OSI reference model
Experience with switched Ethernets, VLANs, layer three switching,and routing (EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, BGP)
Concepts of Internet, VPN, Intranet and Extranets
SNMP Network Management platforms / interoperability
Understanding of traditional POTS Lines, PRI, and SIP technologies
Familiarity with MPLS, wireless, DS3, T-1, and Ethernet
Comprehensive knowledge of network packets including the abilityto analyze and debug layers 17
Extensive experience of Cisco multilayer switches and routers
Extensive experience of firewall, VPN operation, and troubleshoot Cisco/ASA/Juniper/Fortigatefirewalls.
Experience with using and maintaining Solarwinds Orion
Experience with administering and troubleshooting Aruba Wirelessproducts
Proven ability working in high availability productionenvironments
