Job Title: Network Engineer I� � � � � � � � �


Department: IT-Infrastructure
Reports To: Data Communications Supervisor
FLSA Status: Exempt
Supervise the work of others: No

Position Summary: Assists in the development and maintenance of network communications. Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience, and judgment to perform the functions of the job. Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:
This list is not comprehensive but meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties may be required and/or assigned.


-Interacts daily with all levels of technical and business functions of the company



-Provide support, coordinate and/or perform changes to Network hardware, operating systems and attached devices based on system utilization and operational problems.



-Analyze and recommend hardware and software solutions for an Enterprise System.



-Uses knowledge of network communication protocol, including TCP/IP networking concepts and security to develop best practices.



-On Call Support for after hours, weekend, and holiday needs on a rotational basis.


Minimum Requirements:
� Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and work experience with Cisco Network hardware, Voice Over IP. Strong understanding of network technology including Domains, Trusts, Security, DNS.
