JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY NetworkEngineer II ( Day Shift) responsible for configuration and troubleshooting of various networking equipment in Aberdeen, MD.
Primary responsibilities include management of DREN and SDREN networks, which consist of 70+, separate sites each, Provide level II support for the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN) and the Secure Defense Research and Engineering Network (SDREN).
Manage Juniper SRX, SSG, and ISG Firewalls, MX-series, M-series, and J-series routers, Brocade FCX and ICX switches, RHEL IDS, and General Dynamics TACLANEs.
Track network performance and utilization statistics and completed weekly reports for technical team to provide to project management.
Contribute to team projects including troubleshooting poor WAN throughput between several customer sites, and firewall policy cleanouts in preparation for new SRX deployment.
Systems Management (Windows and Linux
Minimum six (6) years experience in the network environment where role and responsibilities included: operational and management support, equipment configuration and installation, and troubleshooting hardware/software issues on equipment such as firewalls, routers, switches, taclanes, and vpn concentrators.
Must have experience in at least two (2) or more of the following network devices:
- Juniper Routers
- Juniper Firewalls (Netscreen and/or SRX)
- Brocade Switches
- TACLANE Encryptors
Must have some experience with configuring and troubleshooting IPv6, BGP (IPv4 and IPv6), OSPF and Multicast.
BachelorDegreepreferred; Active Secret Clearance; 8570 Compliant, COMP TIA Securty+; JNCIA preferred.
