Network /Systems Administrator

G4S Government Solutions (formerly Wackenhut Services Inc.) a premier provider of fire, EMS and protective force services to the US Government, has an immediate opening for a Network/Systems Administrator at its Headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operation of computer networks at primary Data Center located in Corporate HQ as well as primarily responsible for offsite subsidiary and DRS Datacenters and Systems to include hardware/software support, training, and special projects; plans, designs and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems;

Assists in coordinating special projects, systems installation, backups, maintenance and problem solving; assists in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support;

Maintains LAN user documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information;

Researches and recommends network and server hardware and software; assists in installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software; analyzes and troubleshoots the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems; monitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges; installs, supports and maintains both physical and virtual network servers and appliances;

Establishes and maintains user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security;

Researches, analyzes, monitors, troubleshoots and resolves server or data network problems; develops, maintains and implements network support, and archiving procedures;

Researches and evaluates new technologies related to computer networking; assists in planning, coordinating and consulting with vendors and clients for hardware/software purchases, product services and support; recommends and specifies the purchase of related products and services;

Keeps current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements;

Establishes and maintains user e-mail accounts; provides e-mail training and software support; provides e-mail documentation as needed.

Network Functions:
Procurement, installation, administration and maintenance of server/s, individual desktop, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, VOIP phones and other network related and/or capable device

Network I.P. address allocation, as well as allocation of routing protocols and routing configurations that must meet minimum standards which may either be prescribed by law, by the industry, or by custom but must always produce adequate usage of the company;

Internet networking maintenance and policy creation for desktop, laptop, tablet and other network capable device specified by the corporation.

Security functions:
Set up, maintenance, and upgrade network security, especially those involving IP addresses and connectivity on selected hardware;

Install, monitor, maintain, upgrade standards for server installations to minimize if not totally obliterate security breaches, inadequate data management and application crashes;

Install, monitor, maintain the file servers and VPN gateways to detect and solve security and or accessibility issues.Qualifications:

Certifications required/preferred; MCSA

5 - 10 years Experience

Possible travel of 20-25%
