Job Description
DESCRIPTION:The New Business Development Specialist - Acrodur? is responsible for developing the Acrodur resin business across multiple target industries. Effective management of parallel customer projects with diverse value chains is required with the aim of achieving tangible business in each market. Alongside the primary Acrodur? project, smaller business development projects may be assigned to support business needs.The position will have access to existing marketing strategies and will function closely with Marketing and Technical teams, ensuring alignment of initiatives and targets. To accelerate the commercialization and business opportunities for the delegated projects, collaboration with appropriate extended business networks and external technical teams is necessary. As project leader, fostering diverse perspectives and integrating them across the organization is paramount to the development of the effective teamThe New Business Development team aims to diversify the Dispersions and Pigments (N-EDN) portfolio, leverage cross business synergies, develop networks, provide market and competitive knowledge and act as BASF ambassadors. Therefore, the role's expanded responsibilities include scouting for new opportunities, supporting the N-EDN business units by exploiting inter-business unit synergies and identifying/communicating unmet market needs to N-EDN development group and other entities as appropriate.Further supporting the cross business approach, the Specialist position is required to maintain contact with the 2020 Market and Customer teams and to provide them with N-EDN relevant information as well as initiate any N-EDN relevant projects. - *This position is part of a job family and will be filled at a level commensurate with the selected candidate's experience.**QUALIFICATIONS:BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent - Must possess a Bachelors degree in Chemical Sciences or Engineering Field as a minimum - Prior New Business Development experience is a plus - Exhibit strong analytical capabilities, accountability and strategic focus - Demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities and commercial strategies - Proven ability to conduct and interpret significant economic, financial and feasibility data - Ability to understand the application requirements / performance requirements and translate into the chemistry of products - Experience in leading and conducting activities associated with introducing and commercializing new products or innovative solutions to the market - Superior communication, interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with key decision makers at all levels at both customers and internal management, including executive levels - Preferred candidates will have a demonstrated background in Project Management, including managing projects across extended value chains - Leads by example and sets environment for taking calculated risks within the organization by addressing constraints and enabling resources - Proven track-record of being a self-starter with excellent time management and organization skills - Ability to establish networks and derive successful opportunities - Any prior background in marketing resins for composites, Acrodur? technology or market knowledge would be an additional asset
