This exciting opportunity is part of Momentive Performance Materials Inc.
Applications expert in relation to the use of silane technologies in Tire & Rubber: formulation, compounding, and characterization.
Formulation, processing and characterization of silane technologies within rubber compounds in order to meet the advancing needs of the market.
Collaboration with marketing and business functions on projects to establish a set of clearly defined technical targets.
Creative input into the design and understanding of new product chemistries through close collaboration with a team of chemists and engineers.
Technical support to customers to help them with the adoption of new product technology, including travel to customer sites as needed.
Solid understanding of the relevant patent landscape and effective patenting of proprietary technologies.
Clear communication to a range of audiences relative to project goals and milestones.
Strategic Focus & Direction: understanding the goals of the business and translation to technical targets.
Trust & Teamwork: Work closely and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
Personal Leadership: Take responsibility for the design of experiments and leading technicians in the accomplishment of team goals.
Achieve Business Results: Effectively prioritize tasks and overcome obstacles to deliver results according to agreed-upon timelines.
At least 5-10y tire industry experience in a product development related role.
Solid understanding of key chemical and physical interactions that influence tire & rubber properties and performance.
Demonstrated track record of high academic achievement and creative independent research.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a cross-functional team with strong customer focus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
PhD in Chemistry, Material Science, or Polymer Science or BS/MS in chemistry plus 10 years experience in the tire industry.
