Position Summary
The Northeast System consists of five offices within the North America region: Boston, New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. and is the largest system in all of BCG. Each of these offices has a local finance presence which provides direct support to office partners, consulting, and Business Services teams. The Northeast System Finance Manager will work with the NE Business Management Senior Director (BMSD) to create a cohesive and impactful finance partnership across the five Northeast System offices, providing direction to NE office finance leads in managing the financial aspects of office operations, accounting, financial reporting and systems. The Northeast Finance Manager will also provide leadership, mentoring and direction to local finance staff, and be the primary liaison between Northeast finance and System Lead and NE BMSD in coordinating analyses to drive decision making for the system.

Job Responsibilities

* Budget, Planning and Analysis

* Lead the production and analysis for annual operational budgets and forecasts in accordance with regional and global guidelines, business trends and line management

* Lead the consultant capacity planning process and measurement of actuals against objectives. Based on results of analysis, develop recommendations to the System OA/OC and advise on how to optimize results

* Work with finance leads across the system to develop the most efficient support model for estimate and plan process

* Lead comparison and analysis of cost across the offices and look for opportunities to create consistency

* Develop a set of standard management reports to support the effective management of the business, particularly as it evolves and grows.

* Client Service and Support

* Lead the system in ensuring impactful client project management, support and analysis

* Review office metrics on client contracting to ensure terms and potential risks are captured, reported, and tracked properly across the system's client portfolios

* Ensure case economics are calculated properly by the Northeast finance team and made transparent across the partner group

* Ensure the proper and timely management of WIP, accounts receivable, collections and absorptions amongst the finance team in the system. Implement process improvements and best practices to achieve firm DSO targets

* Drive proper review, best practice sharing, monitoring, and accounting of Value Based Pricing and Commercial Investment Tracking across cases

* Team Development

* Lead structuring of Northeast Finance team to achieve maximum effectiveness and stakeholder engagement

* Identify gaps in Northeast Finance team capabilities, drive cohesive best practices, and drive optimal resource deployment

* Look for efficiencies across the finance team and move the paradigm toward a "one team" structure

* Set general direction for training, development and mentorship across the system finance function

* Other Responsibilities

* Establish and foster close ties with other system heads of finance and regional finance leadership to better drive best practices and operational excellence

* Ensure proper risk compliance and mitigation standards are in place across the offices

* Work with finance leads across the system to ensure proper monitoring of buildout/capex financials is in place

Basic Job Requirements

* Education/Experience:

* Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance

* 10+ years of experience in financial analysis/planning or general accounting

* Experience in a professional services environnent a plus

* MBA and/or CPA preferred

* 5+ years of managerial experience preferred

* Good working knowledge of personal computer systems and above average competency in spreadsheet programs, utilizing a windows environment (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Business Objects, Oracle)

* Excellent communication and organizational skills

* Strong knowledge of principles, procedures, and practices of general accounting
