Statement of Purpose: Works under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator. The Nurse Assistant assists nursing staff in the delivery of individual patient care for patients assigned to the Unit, according to the unit policies and procedures. Maintains standards of nursing practice, in accordance with the mission, values, and philosophy of St. Alexius Medical Center. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school graduate or equivalent work experience including ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology. Licensure: Must be listed on a Nurse Assistant Registry operated by the North Dakota Board of Nursing, State Department and Consolidated Laboratories by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. If not on a registry, then must obtain placement on one immediately following orientation and training by St. Alexius Medical Center as stated in the policy Eligibility for Employment as Nurse Assistant . Experience: Preferred hospital experience, aide experience or satisfactory completion of certification/training program. Skills: Able to organize assignments and work under pressure. Basic Life Support Certification within 480 hours of employment and meets re-certification as required. Interpersonal Skills: Good communication skills are necessary because of the constant communication, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, and medical center staff. Accountable for own conduct and promotes and supports positive working relationships among staff, between other disciplines, departments, families, visitors and patients. Maintains confidentiality. Physical Effort: Medium: Involves a maximum physical effort requirement of 50 pounds sometimes. 35 lbs light medium work level with floor to waist lifting. 50 lbs medium work level with knee to waist lifting. Hours of Work: Rotating shift work or straight evenings or nights. Rotating holidays and weekends may be required. Other: Works under the following conditions: potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical and infectious environmental hazards.

Full Time Evenings/ Weekends/ Holidays
