Department Description

Obstetrics and Gynecology Services at Mount Zion is part of the UCSF Women's Health Center, Northern California's only nationally designated Center of Excellence in Women's Health.

We offer a range of obstetrical and gynecological services for women of all ages. Obstetrical care includes management of both routine and high-risk pregnancies, prenatal diagnosis and treatment. Gynecological services include care for all disorders of the female reproductive system.

Our Birth Center is state of the art and family oriented. The private birthing suites have bathrooms with showers, whirlpool tubs and amenities such as refrigerators. Patients typically labor, deliver and recover there. After your recovery, you and your baby move to a private postpartum room, with a deep-soaking tub and chairs that convert into sleepers for family members or guests. Job Summary

Under direction, guided by the Committee on Interdisciplinary Practice ( CIDP ) Standardized Process and Outcome Protocols and Procedures of the Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with the physician staff, the Continence Specialist Nurse Practitioner provides direct care to patients with multiple, often complicated chronic medical problems.

Assignments at this level may include the direction of continuity of care for patients with multiple medical problems; providing direct care to this group of patients, responsibility for occasional community teaching programs, participation in program planning, and development of patient education information. S/he consistently projects a professional and courteous demeanor. The Nurse Practitioner shall comply with the Medical Center House and Telephone Standards.

UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Health Professionals (AHP) to be credentialed through its Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) in order to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric AHPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Medical Center sites (Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Mission Bay, Satellite Clinics, et al). Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.

Required Qualifications

* Minimum of one year prior experience with management of female pelvic floor disorders in Urogynecology or Urology practice

* One to three years related experience as Nurse Practitioner

* Knowledge of Women s Health nursing

* Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the State of California

* Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California

* Active American Heart Association CPR certification

* National certification in the area of specialty, i.e. ANP, FNP, WHNP, Geriatric, within one year of employment

* Current NP Furnishing License and verification of experience to furnish (if applicable)

* Registered Nurse as defined by the California Board of Registered Nursing and completion from a college or university based Nurse Practitioner Program

* Possesses the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to successfully perform the duties of the assigned position

* The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations is required

Preferred Qualifications

* Family planning competency including hormonal birth control, IUD placement, Nexplanon. Colposcopy certification, Experience with EMR

Licensure/Certification

* Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the State of California

* Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
