The Nurse Practitioner in Heme-Onc is an advanced practice nurse who provides nursing and medical services to patients in the Division of Hematology-Oncology, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. Services include but are not limited to ordering, conducting and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies in a cost efficient manner. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients health care problems. Serve as health care resources, interdisciplinary consultants and patient advocates. Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care. Specifically, the Hematology NP will provide care to patients diagnosed with bleeding and clotting disorders. The Heme NP will work closely with the coag defects team. Qualifications: Masters Degree in Nursing required. Three years pediatric RN experience required. RN experience in Hematology-Oncology required, NP Heme-Onc experience preferred.
License, Registration or Certification Required: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing for hold out as a Nurse Practitioner as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code. Current California Registered Nurse License and current certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Current BCLS certification required. National certification as appropriate - preferred. Eligible for Furnishing License - required.
