We recently broke ground on a state-of-the-art, $1.27B, 2.5M sg. ft. replacement hospital with anticipated completion in 2014. http:newparkland.parklandhospital.com ) bPRIMARY PURPOSEb Responsible for quality management of healthcare issues for patients in designated primary or specialty area, including patient diagnoses, treatment, education and referrals to ensure optimal patient medical management consistent with the PHHS mission of patient centeredpatient valued care. This individual performs clinical Practitioner duties in designated specialty area. They obtain histories, perform exams, diagnose, order tests, treat and refer patients as necessary to ensure optimal patient healthcare management consistent with the PHHS mission of patient centeredpatient valued care. This person may be required to demonstrate full orientation to appropriate clinical area and provide clinical coverage for acute hospital based areas as assigned. This person maintains accurate and timely records of patient information to ensure coordinated service delivery and continuity of care. They manage time effectively to ensure optimal use of patient and provider resources, utilize less physician consultation time and demonstrate more practiced decision making and patient care management skills. This position will be rotating ten hour shifts. bREQUIREMENTSb It is essential this individual have a Bachelors degree in Nursing and have completed an accredited post-graduate Nurse Practitioner program. In addition, prefer Nurse Practitioner clinical experience in a similar specialty area. The position also requires having a current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license. This person must have a current CPR certification or obtain one during initial orientation at Parkland. They must have current recognition from the Texas Board of Nursing acknowledging Advanced Practice Nurse status and must nationally certified in area of specialty and maintain active certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Orthopedic experience is preferred.
